Sooo today marks the day that every missionary anticipates, but never thinks will actually arrive - the 100 days left mark. And it feels so weird! I definitely don't feel like I should have just 100 days left on my mission - especially because I remember how fast my first 100 days went! I'm definitely grateful for the time I still have left - I'm not ready to go home! I love my mission, and although I know that the Lord has plans for me afterwards, I still thank Him every day for the wonderful experiences I've had and the amazing people I've met - and the experiences I have yet to have and the people I have yet to meet!
1. We have a great recent convert named Aaron that we're teaching the new member lessons to! His son Matthew is also amazing, and he's wanting to take the lessons and learn about the church as well! They are both such sweet people, and we love them. We are definitely grateful that we're in a trio when we go see them though because there are two siblings that are both very young and require a lot of attention - they make it a little hard for Aaron and Matthew to pay attention to the lesson. So what we do is 2 of us teach while the other distracts the two younger ones. It actually works pretty well, but we're excited to get some members involved so that they can come and help watch the littles so that Aaron, Matthew, and all 3 of us can be better focused on the lesson and the Spirit.
2. Being in a trio is SO MUCH FUN! Now that we've all gotten used to the dynamic and adjusted to the new area and to each other, we're all getting along great and we're really enjoying being together. I really love my companions, they're awesome! Sister Bennett is funny, every time we see a deer (which is often) she points it out - LOOK A DEER!!! It's actually a little terrifying, but we've certainly been appreciating the wildlife more! Speaking of wildlife, it's hunting season - I've been eating a lot of dead hunted things. Tomorrow we're having sheep steak... I'm a little nervous, but I'm excited to try new things!
3. I found a scripture this week that I absolutely fell in love with - it's in the Doctrine and Covenants Section 78:17-19. It reads:
17 Verily, verily, I say unto you, ye are little children, a nd ye have not as yet understood ho w great blessings the Father h ath in his own hands and prepared for you;
18 And ye cannot bear all thin gs now; nevertheless, be of go od cheer, for I will lead you al ong. The kingdom is yours and the blessings thereof are yours, and the riches of eternity are yours.
19 And he who receiveth all th ings with thankfulness shall b e made glorious; and the things of this earth shall be added u nto him, even an hundred fold, yea, more.
I think my favorite part of this scripture is in verse 18 where it says "for I will lead you along" I definitely have a testimony that Jesus Christ is ever mindful of us and that He understands perfectly our trials and our stresses and our worries and our fears. I love the verse of the hymn "Be Still My Soul" where it says "Be still my soul, thy God doth undertake to guide the future as He has the past" I definitely know that God has guided me through my past decisions and struggles, and I have faith that He will yet guide me through my future. I know He will do the same for any of you reading this too! I have a testimony of the blessings of a loving Heavenly Father to His children, I love the Bible verse in Matthew 19:29 that talks about receiving an hundred fold when we make sacrifices for the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus lives and loves us, and I know that our Father in Heaven loves us too. Prayer is a powerful thing, and I know that our Heavenly Father wants to and does speak to His children.
I love you all! I hope you have a great week!
